An Introduction to Writing Across the Curriculum

The WAC Clearinghouse landing page on Writing@CSUWriting Across the Curriculum, or WAC, is a pedagogical reform movement originating in the 1970s. Acknowledging the act of writing as being integral to learning, WAC promotes the incorporation of writing assignments into the curriculum across all academic disciplines.

Not only does the act of writing and revision improve students' writing skills, it fosters critical thinking and a deeper understanding of course material. The result: significantly enhanced retention and increased learning outcomes.
